    Ford Ranger European 13-Pin Trailer Socket Quick Guide

    The Ford Ranger European 13-pin socket is exclusive to the T9-generation Ranger (Wildtrak) models produced after 2023. Compliant with the ISO 11446 European standard, it offers far more functions than traditional 7-pin sockets and fits various towing equipment.

    Core Functions


    It integrates signal transmission and power supply: full light synchronization (turn signals, brake/running/reverse/fog lights); dual 12V power supply (constant power + trailer battery charging); connected to the vehicle CAN bus, it Automatically disables the reverse rADAr and activates the trailer stability control system when towing.

    Compatibility & Factory Configuration

    Compatible with European/Australian/domestic 2023+ T9-generation Ford Ranger models; not applicable to Raptor and PHEV versions. High-spec models or those with the factory tow package come with the socket (located on the left rear bumper or near the tow hitch), while low-spec models require a dedicated wiring harness for retrofitting.

    Retrofit Accessories

    Plug-and-play wiring harness: no wire cutting required, compatible with vehicle communication; 13-pin to 7-pin adapter: compatible with old trailers for improved versatility.

    Differences from American 7-Pin Socket

    European 13-pin: full functions, dual power supply, waterproof and durable, suitable for heavy-duty towing, mainstream in Europe, China and Australia; American 7-pin: basic functions, single power supply, only for light-duty towing, mainstream in North America.

    Practical Applications

    Suitable for towing caravans, yachts and ATV trailers, installing light-equipped bike racks/tool boxes, and connecting auxiliary lights, ideal for off-roading, camping and other scenarios.
